Wind Scatterometry 
This image shows wind streamlines and wind speeds over the ocean with enhanced resolution Ku-band backscatter over land. The MERS research group has been actively involved in scatterometry research. As part of this research we have built a tower mounted research scatterometer known as YSCAT and are actively involved in the current mission of SeaWinds on QuikScat.
