ADEOS-II was successfully launched in December, 2002 but the power system failed in Oct. 2003. Thus, though the SeaWinds sensor worked well, it operated for only 9 months. The SeaWinds data set has added to the NASA Scatterometer Climate Record Pathfinder archive.
