YSAR IMAGES - Zippori Site
The BYU Synthetic Aperature Radar Systems
Zippori is believed to be the site of a large center of learning after
the fall of Jerusalem in 70 C.E. There are many partially excavated
ruins from this period. There is also a large crusader fortress on
the top of the hill.
This is a very rocky area. Many rock walls can be seen in both the
tourist map provided and the SAR images. These are visible but not
as obvious from the ground. Some areas are covered with trees. A modern
reservoir in the valley below can be seen in some images.
