The BYU Synthetic Aperature Radar Systems

YSAR ISRAEL IMAGES

YSAR was used over four archeological sites in Israel in Sept. 1996. The radar uses a low enough frequency that we hoped to penetrate the ground a short distance to see walls, foundations, or other large objects. This information would aid in excavation. Images and site descriptions are provided in the links below.

YINSAR TEST IMAGES

First Parking-Lot Test

The first YINSAR system tests were performed in the parking lot of Cougar Stadium at Brigham Young University. The stadium can be seen in the far range (left side of the image), and three corner reflectors (test targets) and four light poles can be seen in the near range.
